Our History
You Got Flower’s Founder, Fatemeh Jalili, mother of a wonderful daughter, has lived in the beautiful Boston area all her adult life. After graduating from college, she spent over 20 years working as a computer engineer at various high-tech companies in the greater Boston area. After starting a family, as a stay-at-home mom, she had the privilege to be present for the growth and development of her daughter both at home and also at her school where she began working as a volunteer. And since life is filled with countless experiences and opportunities, she got involved doing volunteering work distributing donated flowers.
Propelled by a lifetime love and passion for nature and flowers, and now handling and arranging flowers, she viscerally realized that this passion has had a profound positive impact on her own mental and emotional health. Since 2018, driven by labor of love, she has been serving communities in the greater Boston area, bordering cities, Watertown, Belmont, Brighton, Cambridge, Newton, and Waltham, by collecting donated flowers from Trader Joe’s.
Literally out of her garage, almost every day, focusing on color, harmony, arrangements and presentation, she has been meticulously creating beautiful bouquets of flowers, and delivering them to those in healthcare facilities, including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living and senior centers.
Her relentless commitment has always been rewarded by witnessing the genuine happiness reflected in the faces of people receiving the flowers. This commitment further inspired her to officially create in 2024, a 501c3 nonprofit tax-exempt organization, “You Got Flowers”, whose mission is to improve the emotional health and well-being of individuals in healthcare facilities by delivering and presenting repurposed flowers to inspire and to create powerful moments of kindness and genuine respect for such individuals living in our communities.
